Wander of the West does Katherine Outback Experience
We were fortunate to have the lovely Edwina Robertson of Wander of the West drop by during her Australia-wide outback adventure who captured some rather special moments. Rather than us spamming our Facebook and Instagram, we thought we would share our favourite photos in a blog post.
The Concept: Wander of the West
Wander of the West is the journey of a girl, her dog and a camera. It is a three month road trip adventure around rural Australia without carrying a single dollar. The project involves Edwina providing a photography service in exchange for a meal for her and her trusty pooch Jordie, a bed, a packed lunch and enough diesel to get the old wagon ‘Alice’ to the next stop.
The journey hasn’t been all smooth sailing with a car roll over – although costly, fortunately no one was seriously injured (though the photos of the war wounds are impressive), an injury caused by a rather tough piece of steak, and running out of diesel in the middle of the Pilbara.
One could say it’s all part of the adventure – in doing so, Wander of the West has shared a range of beautiful photos and great stories from the bush.
The Photo Shoot: Katherine Outback Experience
A photoshoot to capture the elements of our Katherine Outback Experience show or Tom’s music for the release of his new album ‘Territory Time’ (in November 2017) would have been an obvious choice. However given we wear jeans and boots everyday, we thought it would be fun to do something a little different. Having made this call just half an hour before Edwina was due to arrive, we frantically whipped through the shower and slipped into something more dressy – dusting off the suit and heels for a change.
The truth is we have a lot to celebrate including recently becoming engaged and the impending release of Tom’s third self-funded album ‘Territory Time’, together with another successful tourist season here in the Top End.
This was the outcome…… Enjoy!
A special thank you to Edwina of Wander of the West for including us in your adventure (sorry again for the tough steak – we have a new rule here to never accept meat in exchange for work again).
