Media Release: Tom Curtain Debuts at No.1 with Territory Time Album

Katherine Outback Experience’s Tom Curtain debuts new album ‘Territory Time’ at No.1

THE new album from Tom Curtain, Territory Time, has won the hearts of music lovers, debuting this morning, November 14, at No. 1 on the iTunes Country Album Chart and No. 12 iTunes Album Chart (all genres). This comes ahead of the launch tour involving top-class music and a look into country life through the Katherine Outback Experience.

Released on November 14, the Territory Time album is a reflection of Tom’s life living and working in the Northern Territory, running the Katherine Outback Experience tourist attraction and training dogs and horses.

The Territory Time video captures how easy it is to get caught up in our own busy lives, when actually we need to slow down, unplug, relax and take some time to enjoy the company of the people we care about most – you might be surprised by what you see. The Territory Time lyrics talk about it being a state of mind, and when it is forced upon you, there’s no use fighting it, rather embrace it and enjoy the opportunities it presents.

“This album is a collection of stories I have experienced first-hand or heard while working in the outback over the past decade,” he said. “It celebrates the different way of life in the Top

End. It includes stories of loss, hard work and never giving up, together with a few light- hearted fun songs.”

The country artist is about to take the album and the Katherine Outback Experience show, on tour from Katherine, down through Western Australia from November to February.

“I’m really looking forward to hitting the road and touring the Territory Time album throughout regional WA, to towns and communities who wouldn’t usually get these sorts of events visiting their doorstep,” Tom said. “People love the show because it’s raw

and real. There are no flashing lights or production sets. We provide real horse breaking and working dog demonstrations – something the general public wouldn’t usually see.”

“We had a lot of fun making this film clip, as we wanted to try and explain that the Northern Territory is a place which has so many beautiful natural landscapes, and you simply need to chill out and let the ‘Territory Time’ mentality take over,” Tom said. “We tried to describe my work and (fiancée) Annabel’s work environment and how, when she came up to the NT, she found the place to be running on a different frequency; running on Territory Time.”

The singer-songwriter, originally from Kingaroy, Queensland, co-wrote the single with Golden Guitar winner Luke O’Shea, who also co-wrote the first single, Never Never Land.

Tom said he wanted to encourage those outside the Territory to jump in their cars and get up to the Top End and experience the landscape, lifestyle and characters for themselves.
