Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! we are taking coronavirus very seriously and are monitoring government advice. we continue to alter our policies in response to restrictions. we are taking all measures to minimise risk to participants and staff. this includes:

  • Maintaining a 1.5 metre separation at all times where guests are from different social cohorts
  • Daily cleaning of seating, toilets and equipment
  • Cashless transactions
  • Cleaning of helmets, saddles and bridles following sessions
  • Availability of hand wash and sanitiser onsite

Please respect the health of our team and do not enter our property under the following circumstances:

  • If you or someone in your family has returned from overseas or knowingly come in contact with someone who has returned from overseas or had the virus within 14 days
  • If you or someone in your family has been or felt unwell recently
  • If you or someone you have been with has been in a “hot spot” in the last 14 days.

We will happily reschedule your lesson should any of the above circumstances occur provided amendments are made within cut off times with the exception of snap hotspot lockdowns (in this case we will refund/ reschedule). there will be ramifications should it be found the above requests are ignored.

We offer horse riding for participants as young as 3 years old through to 60+ years of age.

Weight restrictions is limited to around 120kgs. if you are over 100kgs, please let us know in the comments section when making your booking so we can match you to the best suited horse and maximise the time in which you are riding. this information remains confidential within our team. it also helps significantly if you include your height so we can match you to the right horse.

Closed-in shoes are essential.

Although not essential, we do recommend the following:

  • Sun smart attire including long pants and long sleeved collard are encouraged. despite having an undercover arena, we often ride in the open paddock outdoor arena and bush tracks
  • Helmet if available provided it meets national standards. we do have helmets on hand that meet australian standards and are cleaned following every lesson. bike helmets unfortunately do not meet these standards
  • Avoid large/ long jewellery that can get caught like rings, long necklaces and dangly earrings for added safety.

We accept nt sport vouchers for horse riding lessons!

To use your sports voucher to make a booking you need to email your voucher to admin@katherineoutback.com.au

We will then either:

  • Book you into the preferred date/ time and issue you a gift voucher with a booking code for you to redeem any remaining credit through our online booking system prior to the cut-off date of the voucher; or
  • Issue you a gift voucher with a booking code for the full value of the voucher for you to redeem via our online booking system prior to the cut-off date of the voucher.

Please note, if this is your first lesson, you will need to book a private lesson (as opposed to group lesson). we would also recommend the 1/2 hour lesson for your first lesson.
