Brad Cox and David Garnham Live at Katherine Outback Experience

BRAD COX DEBUT ALBUM TOUR

2018 Toyota Star Maker winner, Brad Cox, will be performing at Katherine Outback Experience on Friday 21 September as part of his national tour, giving this singer-songwriter an opportunity to showcase songs from his brand new self-titled album.

When Brad Cox won the prestigious competition at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January, he announced to the crowd, “You’re going to be seeing a lot more of me”. Making good on that promise, here he is, in your town.

He has a big sound. A big voice. A big band. And BIG dreams.

Backed by a tight three-piece band, featuring Hunter Beasley on guitar, mandolin and banjo; Jackson Besley on bass and James Edge on drums, Brad leads from the front with a voice that stops traffic and tells stories of love in his charming southern country style; love of the land, love of being a lad and, above all, love of a beer and a yarn.

During Brad’s show he’ll play all the songs from the album and you’ll hear sounds like the dirty Blues of “Drinking Pioneer” to laid back Southern styling of “Found My Way Home”, to the Country Pop #1 “Red Light” and #2 “Too Drunk To Drive”, then on to the truly Australian ballad of both beauty and heartbreak, “Water On The Ground”. Brad blurs the lines of genre and style, breaking both the mould and new ground in Australian country music.

His self -titled album released May 4, debuted at #2 on the iTunes Country Charts where it’s remained for some weeks in the Top #10.

Brad’s no stranger to the road, growing up in Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales and having worked in the Territory, as well as a good portion of country NSW following the harvest. There’s a whole lot of kilometres, fence posts, tractor hours, pub gigs and bottles of Stones in the lyrics of this 12-track album, and as you listen, you’ll feel every one.

Opening for Brad will be well-known Darwin local David Garnham. David has already had a successful career with his band’s debut album ‘Love inside a jar”. The album was described as “the start of a substantial career” by the Courier Mail, and took out NT song of the year and the Americana category in the International Songwriting Competition.
